Power surger in my strip went off and busted itself ( it's fairly old so this wasn't unexpected but a surprise because I got it from my grandmother quite some time ago that she stole when she was a contractor for the military), so I replaced it with a spare lying around the house and everything started up but a bit slow, then after everything is booted up and my startups are up and running steam Spotify etc parts of the screen gets blotchy pixels similar to the colors that they are supposed to be on the screen, but only in parts and the computer freezes up unable to do anything. I got a blue screen once but it just restarted the system. Any of you guys have an idea what this is? My guess is my motherboard or hard drive but I don't know what to do at the moment.

Could be several things after a power issue, starting with the power supply, motherboard, hard drive, video card. The screen issue point to a video card or power supply issue more than anything else.
