Usb type C port with usb 3.1 mobo header

I am buying a Asus prime h270 plus motherboard and SilverStone RL-05 cpu case

My question is can I connect the usb type C port with mobo's usb 3.1 header?

Also if you conect usb 3.0 port to mobo's 3.1 will it give the performance of usb 3.1? If not any suggestions for a cheap case with usb 3.1 ports on front?

I m in the same situation, i want a 5.25 bay with usb 3.1 with 3.1 header but i cant find.

Maxalge,can you connect the front panel ports of case to the back ports of motherboards? Asus h270 pro has a type C connector at the back

it would require you to run a cable from the back to the front panel

so you would need a front panel hub

and a 3.1 cable long enough to run thru...

Some cases come with handy holes pre installed, if you are lucky... if not you would need to modify the case

No as there are only a few cases right now that can utilize USB 3.1 Gen 2 headers.
Your case only support USB 3.1 Gen 1 which is still USB 3.0 but just renamed to this. Your type C port is usb 3.1 gen 1 so it uses the same USB 3.0 (usb 3.1 gen 1) header. It does not support the new USB 3.1 Gen 2 header. Your motherboard already support two USB 3.0 headers.
You need to understand that USB type C does not indicate the speed/bandwidth, it only tells you the the type of connector used.
