Will my current system bottleneck a GTX 1080?

Hello,

So it's been quite some time since I have upgraded my GPU (well maybe not too long ago), but my current GPU is a GTX 770 2GB which I got back when it first came out for like $400 or so. It's been running fine but on newer games you can tell it's slowing down as I can't really max most of the new games anymore like in BF1 for example.

I found a good deal on a GTX 1080 and was wondering if my current system would bottleneck it at all.

I currently have:

Intel Core i7 4770 (I forgot if its just 4770 or 4770k, but I don't overclock at all if that matters)
Asrock Z87X Extreme6 Motherboard
16GB RAM DDR3
EVGA Supernova G2 750W PSU

I also only play on 1080p as well

Thanks!

Thanks, I was thinking that it shouldn't since it's not that old of a CPU. If any bottleneck exists, it wouldn't be much/noticeable right? I would prefer not to have to upgrade my CPU right now as well.

Sounds good thanks. Also, any GTX 1080 will basically perform the same/similar right? The one that's on sale that I'm looking at is the MSI GTX 1080 OC DUKE and it's on sale for about $50-$60 cheaper than the next one up.

true is all marketing stuff, dont 'get deceived by it.
