Do multiple HDDs generate too much heat?

I have four 6TB WD HDDs [5400 RPM] in my PC as storage. They're rarely ever accessed and when they are it's just for a short period of time. They're all located front bottom of the case. Behind a huge 250mm intake fan. Even though they're not being used they still tend to heat up a bit (especially in the summer.)

So the real question is... Do they generate enough hot to affect other components in my PC? I was thinking of pulling them all out and and into their own case. They obviously seem to be blocking the airflow so removing them would make since right? As I am using a negative pressure system. What do you think? Would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

They're not going to be giving off a bunch of heat, not enough to impact the temps of the balance of a system.

While they might be blocking airflow, they're also likely benefiting from the intake fan pulling air over them. Moving them to a stand-alone enclosure would work, but ensure there's adequate airflow there too.

An alternative (depending on the case you're using) would be to split them into two pairs. Assuming you have more than 4 bays, move a couple up leaving a bay-sized 'gap' in between the pairs. You'd see a little more airflow make it straight towards your other components, whilst the HDDs would still be benefiting from some intake.

Thanks!!! I'm already using the method of leaving an empty bay between each drive. Just thinking in the long run I guess when they're all filled up. Knowing they do not generate that much of a heat issue to the rest of the system is a huge help for me. Thanks again!
