well.. the above isnt "strictly" true.

When i go into the bios settings and change the PCI setting (think thats what its called?) and i restart, it loads up normal with my 3 monitors. DVI & HDMI in graphics card, VGA in standard display port

then after about 1-2 minutes, the screens flicker, and it only shows my VGA connection. The graphics card is no longer showing in device manager either.

my setup:
I7-7700K (previously I5-6600K)
asus z170p mobo
corsair bronze 750w power supply
msi gtx 1070
16gb corsair ddr4 ram

help?!

anyone? for what its worth, it show the graphics card for about a minute and then the screen flashes and away again
im also running the dvi out from the graphics card and its showing on my monitor fine.. just isnt detecting the graphics card

You mention "VGA" in there, I'm a bit puzzled on that. The new Nvidia cards do not output VGA. So VGA should have nothing to do with this. How is it involved in your setup?

edit: I'm assuming that since the computer is functional, you updated the motherboard bios before this upgrade to get Kaby Lake support.

reread his post, hes using hdmi to vga

@OP try simply taking a can of compressed and blowing out and dust from pci slot and ram then reseat them. If you were careful changing cpu then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If not so careful its possible to have a bent pin. Have you tried your old cpu again?

hey all - to simplify things, the only video output from my PC to a monitor is a single DVI connection from my GTX 1070 to my monitor.
When the PC boots up, it detects the graphics card for about a minute or so. Then the screen flashes and it no longer detects the graphics card. Instead, under "Other Devices", there is the word "Display" with an orange exclamation mark. I've tried to select "Update driver software" and it fails with code 28.

If i right click -> uninstall & then "Scan for Hardware changes", the screen refreshes again and now detects the gtx 1070. Again, in about a minute, the screen refreshes and we're back to it showing under "Other Devices"

I've completely uninstalled all nvidia drivers and, after downloading the latest, opted for the clean install. This failed 1/4 the way through.

I've just updated the bios using the ez flash, and still getting the same results
