Yes, a battery powered battery pack, the idea is that you slot in AA batteries into the slots until you reach the desired capacity. Of course rechargeable batteries.
The idea stemmed from the fact that we have a few 3300 MA h rechargeable laying around, and if soldered together they could be a huge battery pack if also soldered together with it was a 2.1 amp USB.
So I designed this today in about 30 minutes, 2 USB C ports, 4 USB 2.1 amp A ports. About 2.6 inches long, 1.6 inches wide, and 2.2 inches tall. Pretty bulky to be carrying around though it holds 8 batteries and isnt meant to be carried in your pocket, but is meant to be kept in the car or something like that, carried in your bag, on your bike, etc.
What would you pay for something like this, do you think its a good idea, and do you think it can be done?

Linked will be a download for the model and a screen cap.

Can it be done - sure. Will I do it - don't think so.

Off-the-shelf rechargeable batteries will always have worse power-to-weight (and volume) ratio than LiPo bricks. You can use sealed 12V battery as well, with same power density.

You can also check Instructables, there have been several power bank 'ibles recently.

That's DIY, im talking of possibly a production model with rechargeables, 4USB ports, and maybe I can add a bit more useability. I hadnt read that till just now, so maybe if that hits production, I can up the ante

True, though I do that that I can add more usability, or make a revision to be thinner.
