Upgraded from i5-3570k and i am really impressed with the perfomance in games. however whenever i launch apps my Temps spike (from 35c to 65c) and Fans go full speed. Any fix for this ? really tempted to just go back to my I5-3570k as this is going to get on my nerves pretty quickly.
Specs:
i7-7700k stock speed
hyper 212 evo
16gb ddr4 2133mhz
gtx 1060
I hear the fans revving up when opening new tabs and just opening spotify.

Solution

Press Delete during startup to access BIOS. Smart Fan 5 Settings should be in the M.I.T. tab. Make sure the fan curve is not maxing out the fan before 70C. Adjust for maximum fan speed around 80C.

You can try lowering voltage a little bit. CPU Core Voltage Control is within the Advanced Voltage Control menu in the M.I.T. tab. If it offers an offset mode, offset by -.05V. If no offset mode is provided, manually reduce voltage by .05 volts.

seems to have fixed the problem of fans going crazy. thank you for the help man.

Just have to get used to this CPU give out some high temps.

Intel Kaby Lake (7000 series) is really just an overclocked Skylake (6000 series) chip that has some minor improvements like better integrated graphics and... Well I think that's about it. If both CPUs are set at the same clock speed and paired with a high end graphics card, the 6700K actually wins, while using less power.

Thanks to factory overclocking, the i7 7700K is plagued across the board with obnoxiously high voltages. In all honesty, I'm hesitant to recommend overclocking this chip because of the voltage issues. I like to see users get it running at stock speeds with a lower voltage before I suggest overclocking.
