Can't assign drive letter or partition to HDD (I/O and cyclic redundancy check errors)

I installed a NEW WD Green 2TB internal HDD today, and the SATA power must have been loose as during a steam game installation the drive disappeared. After taking my PC apart and re installing the HDD, I entered the disk manager and was immediately greeted with a 'Data error (cyclic redundancy check)' error. I then attempted to create a 'New Simple Volume' or assign the HDD a new drive letter, however the volume option was greyed out and there was simply no option to format or assign the HDD a new letter. I am completely stumped, I have even tried DBAN with no luck. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance! (Running Windows 10 Home, already have an ssd as C:\ drive)
