hey guys, ive noticed every time i log in to windows 10, my computer hangs up after a short period.
i've googled it and tried everything suggested other then insalling a new OS right now as currently unable too.

but it was working fine before i upgraded my motherboard and processor.
i was running a MSI 790FX GD70 motherboard with a AMD X2 phenom 4 core but i didnt pay attention to what sata port it was in when booting up.

i had a similar problem before with an Asus p8p67 rev pro 3.1 and a intel i5-2400... same hard drive and same everything else inside.

now im running a ASUS sabertooth r2 with a AMD FX 9570 or something, its an 8 core at 4.7ghz.
and its hanging just like the asus did.

now the processor was faulty with the asus so i returned it, but what are the chances its doing it to me again with a diffrent board and cpu. is it just me having bad luck and my thermaltake versa n24 is cursed, or is my hard drive not compatible with a 6gbps sata slot?

im lost in what to do and i cant do anything, i had it running perfectly fine on the msi motherboard, hell i had steam downlading for 15 hours straight and no issues. but soon as i change the motherboard and processor, its having a hissyfit. and it did this with my original asus p8p67 i have.

You really, really, really want the OS installed on one drive in the system.
Yes, use the WD...

1. A WD Green drive is not meant to be the OS drive. It is for, at best, secondary data.
It spins down as it sees fit. It takes time to spin back up.

2. Changing the major hardware (motherboard) often results in not booting at all.

i have a 1tb samsung hard drive installs too, i just loaded the windows 10 on that and it worked perfectly fine, so you suggest just to use the 2tb as a secondary data drive?
im just resetting windows 10 now and seeing if it was the update that caused it because as i said, it worked perfectly fine before, was abit sluggish but it worked, im assuming the sluggishness is due to its spinning habbits?

yehh i guess so, i just had a secondary windows 10 on a seperate drive just incase this kind of thing happened. guess ill format the 2tb and go to using the 1tb as the primary, im just hoping once i update it it doesnt start hanging again, windows 1 is terrible but i dont want to trust hacked versions of windows 7 aha
