I recently got an older gaming computer build from a friend. I'm looking to update it with better components. Below are my specs, if anyone could give advice as to what i should buy or update. I mainly play Cs:Go and League of Legends. Budget is under $500 total.

Motherboard: T-Power X58 ver 5.1
Cpu: intel i7 920@2.67ghz
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 550Ti
Memory: 20GB
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 Rx850
Hard drive: Hitachi HTS723233L9a360 ATA DEVICE

Would it be worth selling, could i keep some of the components (CPU, new memory sticks, and case/power supply) and then update the motherboard and graphics card, buy a SSD?
Believe that is the core of it all.

Please let me know the most important thing to upgrade, change out anything, compatibility issues, or any issues i may face.
Also if there is a way to minimize my wires or better wire management that would be great. It seems like the previous owner had wiring for far more than is in the case.
Thank you so much,

That system is not upgradable past maybe a solid state drive. For LOL and CSGO it does not need any upgrades.
The CPU is a first generation Intel i7, while you can get a higher model of that, not really worth it. The video card is pefectly fine for yoru games and newer ones can easily have issues with the older motherboard.

Sell the system, start clean. For $500 plus the $150-200 you can get for yours you can build a full new system.
