Hello. i recently built a computer. It will turn on but will not boot up.

Specs:

MSI BAZOOKA B250m
i5 7500
EVGA gtx 780
Corsair CX550M
ripjaws v series 2x4gb ram
crucial 500 gb SSD
DEEPCOOL DUKASE V2 CASE

I suspect the problem is an incorrect connection from my video card to my power supply. The video card needs a 6 and 8 pin and I plugged in a 6+2 and 6 pin. I think my power supply comes with an 8 pin connector but it's on a seperate chord from the 6 pin and I can't find it right now.

May anyone help please?

What you are asking us to do is diagnose a problem with a machine we can neither see nor touch. The list(and the answers) allow us to eliminate possible problems and hopefully zero in on the issue. That is why the answers to EACH step are important. without ALL the answers, we are just guessing. Now you are lucky in that you have a "He" that said the other items are not the issue. I would suggest that, since "He" can see and touch the machine, that you get HIM to troubleshoot and debug your problem(s). If however...

I read through the list and tried a few of them such as resetting CMOS, trying one stick of ram and checking if the CPU was installed properly. It did not work. He said the other items on the list are not the issue.
