So to make this short I wanted to try out this Ghost in the shell First Assault game on steam. go to start it up and i only get to the opening video before my gpu fan runs high and my screen goes black. At first i though it was the fact that i was running the game in 4k so i dropped it down to 1080 but that didn't help . I wanted to seek some help before i lose my shit and go back to consoles.

SideNote: this PC was prebuilt all i did so far was slap a GPU and change out the PSU.. not sure if i should upgrade the RAM. all advice is greatly accepted .

here's my poop spec

CPU-Intel Core i5 4460S @ 2.90GHz
GPU- EVGA GTX1060 6G
PSU- Thermaltake TR2 600W
Ram 8g DDR3

Solution
Try some other games and see if it's just a problem related to the Ghost in the Shell game. It could be a game related issue and not a card related issue.

Does any other game work or is this just a bug with first assault? Did you download geforce experience and update your drivers as well? If you did so I would uninstall the drivers and reinstall them again.

the problem still exist , and to answer your other question. its only happened one other time and that was will a low poly game called unturned . I haven't really played anything demanding yet . my plan is to Play FF14 but i wanna make sure this wont be an on going problem.

Also its not hitting anywhere near peak temp.
