CPU air cooler I was trying to install >>
- MasterAir Maker 8 High-end CPU air cooler

Alright, story time, Before I got the Master Air I had a really crumby old fan for my CPU that wasn't doing the job good enough as my CPU would start to over heat. So I decided to upgrade it to something that could keep it cooler. Now im pretty sure the problem isn't the MasterAir I think I might of messed something up or broke something while installing it. While installing the MasterAir I had to take 2 RAM sticks out so I could squeeze my fingers in to plug the MasterAir into the CPU_Fan port. Only because it was weirdly labeled I ended up plugging the fans into the CPU_OPT by accident. Because of this when I started up the pc I would get an error that said there was an error, "CPU Fan Error." I looked it up and when I looked into the motherboard manual I saw what i did wrong, so I fixed it and plugged MasterAir into the correct port CPU_Fan. Now I was able to boot to windows perfectly fine now. The only problem now was that I noticed that there was only 16 GB RAM according to the bios and nothing was plugged into DDR4 DIMM_A1 and A2 slots, (which I had RAM sticks in those slots, they were the ones I took out while installing MasterAir though). Because I thought maybe they arnt pushed all the way in so I opened pc back up and I tried re installing the 2 problematic ones as perfect as I could but the bios still did not detect RAM sticks. So I now decided to swap a stick that wasnt showing as installed with the one in the B1 slot that was being detected. Now when I tried booting pc, all the LEDs would turn on and fans would spin, but nothing would appear on screen and I would get a red light showing up on the CPU LED that would change to a yellow light on the RAM LED. and it would just change back and forth between the 2 every 60 seconds (also the light on the front of the tower that indicates hard drive (or is it RAM?) activity wasn't flashing as normally). I decided then that 16gbs of RAM was better than no computer starting so I quickly switched RAM sticks back to original spots, but now it just does the same thing. I tried holding the MemOK! button and I was able to get to bios where it told me that it saw only one single RAM stick, the one that I havnt touched in the B2 slot. It told me to save RAM settings in bios but when I pressed F1 to go to bios I didnt know what to change and when I clicked save and reset it would then restart the computer but then I had the lights again and would have to hold MemOK! again in order to get back to bios but then it was just a big circle as I didn't know what to 'save' in bios as it was instructing me to 'save settings.' I'm pretty sure the issue is with the RAM sticks themselves or the ports they go into.

I hope this is enough information if anyone can help, I thank you in advance for any advice and help! Let me know if you need more information on anything and I'l let you know.

Here is a copy of my motherboards user manual that I found online >> http://dwn.alza.cz/manual/13362

(I realized that this might belong in the "Memory" thread, sorry.)

After fiddling with it longer I "fixed" the problem. The MasterAir has 2 fans the both have to be plugged into the motherboard. I had them both plugged into the same port (CPU_FAN) with the extender that came with the MasterAir. I decided to unplug one of the fans from the extender and plugged it into the CPU_OPT port by itself. I also took out all the RAM and reinserted all 4 sticks. After doing all that I tried turning the computer on and it booted to the error "CPU Fan Speed Error." But the good thing now is that bios was seeing all 4 sticks of RAM. To get rid of the error I went into the bios and I changed CPU Fan Speed from [Monitor] to [Ignore]. Now my computer boots to windows just fine with no errors. And using RealTemp and another...

And using RealTemp and another application I could see that the MasterAir was keeping my CPU far cooler than the old fan and heat sync that it had.
