I've just finished cloning my HDD (previously filled with OS) to my new SSD. I've successfully booted [strike]into[/strike] from the new SSD and proceeded to format the older HDD for storage. However, now when I turn the computer on, it tries to boot [strike]into[/strike] from the empty HDD and fails. I can press F12 to go into boot menu and select SSD to boot up. I've also tried rearranging drives in the bios but the outcome is still the same. How can I solve this?

Solution
Sounds to me like the windows boot manager still has the hdd as main boot (its stored on the motherboard), one thing that may fix it is disconnect both drives from motherboard and start PC. Obviously it won't work but it may reset the boot order once you plug ssd back in. Make sure it boots from ssd before attaching hdd again. when you do attach hdd, go into bios and make sure its not in the list though you can't really tell what WBM is going to try to use.
