Hi guys,
Last day i replaced my pc processor with a dual core e8400. But a few times i encountered the error message saying "a problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage".
To see if it was due to the processor or if some other software complaint, i tried reinstalling windows.
For the first time i encountered the problem saying "Windows Cannot Be Installed to This Disk. This Computer's Hardware May not Support Booting to This Disk."
So i went to bios and loaded 'last known good config' and i was successful.
But as i entered 8.1 setup, the message saying "whea uncorrectable error" pops up!
Now what am i supposed to do? I cant do anything without completing windows setup as I've deleted the old partition. Someone please help me out...

RAM speeds can also be an issue. But resetting bios to defaults should put those on default speed which is usually okay.
Try removing some of the ram so you only have 1 stick.
That combo of mobo and cpu is fine.
your cpu may be faulty.

That's a BSOD.
if you did not have this problem before changing the processor, then the problem is most likely the processor, or related to the processor.

It's possible that timings in your bios may be set to your old cpu that aren't compatible with the new one. Try resetting your bios to defaults. There may be "safe defaults" option you can try.

If that does not work, you'll need to check if all your existing components are compatible with that cpu.

There's no 'safe default' option. I tried resetting bios to default, still the problem occurs..
Is there any other incompatibility possiblites other than the mobo- cpu pairing? I use g41m combo mobo and cpu is e8400. Its in the mobo support list
