Hey there!

I just got the Ryzen 5 1600 and the MSI B350 TOMAHAWK and I still have to get memory.
I wanted to get the Gskill Trident Z RGB but I saw many people complaining that it doesn't overclock to 3200mhz.

Solution

No problems here running it at 3200mhz, on an MSI board too, but if yours wont do that, for now it will at least do 2933mhz which other kits are struggling to reach.

Also, there is a massive bios update about to come out in the next week or so, AMD AGESA 1.0.0.6, it fixes all the ram problems and allows support for upto 4000mhz speeds, cant wait to get my hands on that bios, loosen my timings and see what I can get my G.Skill Trident Z RGB kit up to, im hoping for 3600mhz, but we will see, the new update also unlocks BLK...

What InvaledError said.... but if you find some reviews of both Ryzen CPUs and/or the Tomahawk, you'll often find G. Skill's Flare-X being used. From what I understand, it is essentially the same as the Trident Z-non RGB, but may be the same as well with the RGB kits. I would rely on proven use cases by review sites etc. and double-check your MSI vendor lists.

ASUS have a beta out of it for there CH6 board, and loads of people are praising it, reporting massive ram overclocks, and easily running ram at the advertised speeds with ease.

Thanks!
Guess I'll stick with my Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2400 for now and upgrade to 3200mhz ram later.
