Starting to stream and need help. If I get the older Intel 6800k will it be worth it? I want something I can upgrade amd not regret buying. I know Intel is releasing new cpus this summer but I don't want to wait. Any suggestions? Also I have builds for both I can link.

Well, to answer your question the 6800k will be amazing CPU to stream and game on max quality, If you do plan on overclocking, the i7 5820k is cheaper, and overclocks further with less voltage and heat and will end up the faster chip in the end.

Now I would suggest you take a look at AMD's Ryzen line, the Ryzen 7 1700 8 core 16 thread chip is a beast of a chip when it comes to streaming, recording and playing games, and its the same price if not cheaper than the 5820k. The Ryzen 7 1700 is slightly slower in single threaded apps, but it's not anything to worry about.

The Ryzen 5 1600 is a 6 core 12 thread chip, its cheaper yet, and is extremely good at multithreaded work loads. Multithread its right with the 6800k. Your choice!
