I am trying to help my 75+ year old grandmother find a new phone. Currently, she plans on continuing to use the Tracfone service she has so we would have to buy an unlocked phone and the sim card from tracphone. The phone she has now (Alcatel One Touch Pixi Unite) is terrible and keeps giving her issues and notifications that confuse her, and despite having bought her a new battery and that she only uses it maybe 20 minutes a day, it dies pretty quickly.
The less complicated the phone is the better, she only needs it for texts, phone calls, and the once and a blue moon facebook browsing on the go. She owns an ipad and has a decent knowledge of how to use it for emails, facebook, and news. She is also a little bit hard of hearing, so phones that have hearing aid compatibility would be great.
Decent battery life is important too, she will be traveling many hours away from home alot the next few months and we would rather the phone not die on her (;
We are currently considering the iphone 5 which i found on ebay under her budget, but her current phone is an android. We are planning on purchasing one very soon (by next week).
