My cpu is an i5 6500, its a good proccessor, but while installing it, I accidentally put it in the socket but it didn't go in all the way at first,a little corner was sticking out and I quickly pushed it in the right way gently. Did I mess it up somehow, will it ruin the cpu?

If you did not tried to lock the socket with improperly set CPU, there should be no damage. Although you could damage pins in the CPU socket that way (low chance I'd say but still), so it's best to remove CPU and take a look at socket.
What would be evidence of damage, my performance on Planetside 2 was overall good with my gtx 1050ti but sometimes it went from 70fps and when about 17 people were in front of me it dropped lowest to 41 but was on average in the 50's for that situation. Is this lower than average for that cpu and gpu combo
