So I have just built my first computer. But I believe I have a problem with my graphics card.

I try to install the drivers for it (the card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070). But when I go to device manager I get 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43) '

I have tried complete uninstalls using software of the drivers and reinstalling already. At this point I am wondering if it is a faulty graphics card?

My hdmi works from the motherboard but no displays work from the graphics card however the graphics card lights up with the leds when the computer is powered on.

Please help!

Solution
If other GPU works, clear sign that your 1070 has problem. If other GPU also would not work, it could be problem with motherboard's PCIe slot.

Okay I see, I did think the GPU may be faulty, I'll try and get hold of another GPU to try and install that to see if it works. If that works then would it be the GPU that is faulty?

I didn't know if there was a problem with the motherboard or something else but thank you so much

Could I place the 1070 in a different PCIe slot to see if that is the problem? Or does it have to be in slot 1?

So I have 3 PCIe slots labelled 1 2 and 3 on the motherboard. I tried the 1070 in slot 2 but still no luck and still getting error code 43.
