How does this build look? I intend to do a lot of gaming. Things I'm wondering are could I get better value out of another CPU, GPU, or motherboard? Is there a better case or CPU cooler to use?

The monitor is the thing I've researched the least and I just kinda have this one as a placeholder because it was well reviewed and had every feature I wanted. If there is a cheaper option or slightly more expensive but worth it option please do let me know.

I'm also not positive about the motherboard but this one seemed to have what I want and room for future upgradability. Basically same story here as monitor.

Should perform a good bit better 16 is a requirement for a high end system, saved a few bucks on the cooler/board/GPU to allow for a 7700k as well.

Thanks! I feel like it would be better to go with the i5 and a better GPU though right?

I assumed he had those parts already. Guess I could have been wrong.

The i7 and that GPU will tie or win in every situation. Win in more than it ties by a few fps. The i5s days of being "enough" are closing rapidly. Look at the 2016/2017 games in all reviews it loses handily.

If you're looking for very high framerates you absolutely need 8 threads. I didn't believe it until a few weeks ago but have seen enough evidence that I'm sold.

Be aware that some 7700k's run much hotter than we've come to expect from intel cpu's. Just don't be alarmed if you see it.

Agree on the Dell monitor - unless you have to have IPS the Dell is a much better value than similar Acer and Asus models. Love mine!
