Can I use a Thunderbolt card on a Z77 intel board?

I have an ASUS P8Z77-Pro (non-thunderbolt), and wanted to know if I can add a TB card for use with a TB 2/3 peripheral (Audio Interface). - I tried researching this, and am very unclear. Do I need a board that has TB on it natively, or will just adding a card be ok? - When I looked at available MB's that have TB natively, the options were very few. Same with pcie cards. Can someone please advise? - Thanks!

Solution
No. To use the Thunderbolt expansion card, the motherboard need to support Thunderbolt with a Thunderbolt chip controller built in.
Your's does not have one so you can't use one.
You can choose to use motherboard that have native thunderbolt ports built into the I/O ports or one that have a TB header allowing it to use the Thunderbolt expansion card.
