Hi. Just interesting how much can cost budget workstation/gaming build? I know new hardware is better, but it will be good 2nd option with older parts. Main use for cad/cam software like solidworks, inventor, solidedge, autocad/draftsight, mastercam, edgecam, and other popular software... Don't wanna upgrade, or just upgrade gpu in few years ahead... Thanks ;)

Ebay a HP z620 make sure it have dual CPU as you need the raiser, Now look for 2X E5-2670 on ebay, get GPU,RAM, HDD/SSD as per need and upgrade Z620. you will be good for a long time.

lol you need power to process big files, usually systems don't use much power when they are idle specially xeons if power is a big issue you will have to go with a Ryzen 1700 build as that will be a balance between price, performance and power the big 3P .

Do you need a workstation or a cheap computer because you can't have both.

Either you need a work station for business in which case the more projects you finish in the week the more money you make so the electricity and PC cost is worth it.
Or this is a hobby and the increased time due to a slow computer is not that important.

"Budget" is very ambigious because one persons idea of budget for this type of computer is $1500-2000, while someone else might be thinking $500.
