Pretty straight forward, I'm building a new pc and have basically all my parts at my house ready to be installed except for a storage device. I am unsure whether if I should get a sata SSD or a M.2 SSD. I heard having an M.2 SSD can effect my computers performance or render a sata port useless. Is this true? And is it possible to install two M.2 SSDs with no impact? (my mobo has 2 m.2 slots). I am very unfamiliar with M.2 SSDs and want to make sure this will work right before ordering my final parts.
This is what pcpartpicker tells me. "The motherboard M.2 slot #0 shares bandwidth with a SATA Express port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA Express port is disabled."
Here is my current build:
GPU: 2x gtx 1080 ti
CPU: i7-7700k 4.2 ghz
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-z170x-gaming 7
RAM: 16 gigs of TridentZ
PSU: HX1000i
Would having just one M.2 ssd effect anything? Would this bottleneck any of my current parts? Would this render my sata express port useless?
Also, I will only have one GPU for now and will be buying a second one later, will any problems occur once I add the second one? bottle necking?
Oh, and here is the M.2 ssd im interested in. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820147594
