best ram for 2 slot motherboard

Hello guys.I have an 2x4gb of ddr 3 hyperx savage on 2400mhz and 1x8 1600 patriot.Would I go for a 2x4gb kit or I can do 1x4gb hyperx and 1x8 patriot.Will it cause any issue on pc?

Having asymmetric memory configuration between memory channels will make you lose some performance, the exact amount will vary depending on how sensitive the software is to burst bandwidth. In games, you would be looking at 3-5% worse average fps and possibly 20-30% for 0.1% lows.

Since you already have the 8GB DIMM, you can always swap one of your 4GB DIMMs out and run some benchmarks of your own to see if the loss in peak memory bandwidth performance is offset by other benefits from having 4GB more RAM.

BTW, your CPU can't overclock, so your 2400MT/s memory should be running at only 1600MT/s anyway.
