Question

If my MOBO supports it (Which it does Not) is my Ram able to be overclocked and if so to what speeds (No fire aloud lmao)? I am asking because I want to get a Ryzen CPU instead please dont turn this into, well the I7 7700 is better blah blah blah trust me I know. I want the Ryzen due to the fact that I stream and I do know 2133 is a little slow for DDR4 Ram with the Ryzen and it in the 24XX range is better (Although any higher is so little it dont matter to me).

Problem I am encountering

The problem is though I dont want to buy more Ram due to the fact that it cost to much with my low budget. So thats why I am wondering if my Ram is OC able, reason of me asking anyway is it dont have any heatsink to distribute air around it is kinda a open Ram. I have no anything besides paper type material on the side of it (Cheaply made), which is what makes me questionable about the OC.

NOTE:

If I can not OC it I dont care I will just go with the Ryzen and later down the road either upgrade my GPU or Ram. All the OC will do is add around 2-3/4 frames anyway.

Well I am also only going with the Ryzen 5 1600, I am not going overkill.

I know 2133 hurts performance, thats why I made this article. I want to know if my Ram cant be OCed to the 24XX range how much frames less will I get on average than with 24XX speed for Ram? Im also going for Ryzen 5 1600, if not that then the I7 7700. ( I got a LGA 1151 MOBO, but not AM4 MOBO)

Don't bump. And what are you bumping? Can the RAM be overclocked? Probably not. Probably not even on an Intel system that's more forgiving. Just like I said in my first post.

I linked you to 2 articles that both explain how memory speed affects Ryzen. What more do you want?

Everything you linked I knew to be honest, im not stupid. I know speeds affect it, thats the biggest downside. All I wanted to know is if my ram can be OCed to the 24XX range. You never not once stated that till now and that was my question, not once did I ask in my original topic if the Ryzen will be crap because my ram speed. What I asked is if my RAM can be OCED!

First post.

Nothing wrong with Ryzen. It performs very well in everything. It's just not quite as good as higher end Intel in gaming.

Ryzen is very memory dependent. It's not just a little bit. See here in Mankind Divided at 1080p the difference is 16% between 2133 and 3200.

Cheap RAM and 2133 in general as 'low end' DDR4 isn't going to overclock.

Yes your referring to "Low End" now is myne "Low End"? If so then you answered my question, but no need for a attitude.

Especially on Ryzen. As you know and those articles explain you have to overspend on RAM. You can't buy lower end kits and overclock you have to buy higher end kits and settle for whatever it works at. Now with newer kits made specifically for AMD that have Ryzen's timings hardcoded it's not so much a factor.

2133 is the slowest speed DDR4. By definition that is 'low end'. Not implying it's trash or anything but high end = DDR4 4266 and low end is DDR4 2133. Any of the H170 or B170 boards would be limited to DDR4 2133.

Okay so by that I can not OC and I need to buy Ram. (I have a Lifetime warranty on my ram)
