Laptop screen flickers when discrete GPU is active

I don't know if this is unusual but if I leave a game on the background like now as I type this and Life Is Strange is running on the background, my screen flickers to black. Is this something I should be worried about?

Here are my specs
Brand and model : ASUS Vivobook X456UQ
CPU: Intel Core i5-6200U 2.8 GHz
GPU: 2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT940MX
RAM: 12 GB 2133 MHz DDR4

try getting a new display port or hdmi cable or whatever you have if that doesent work uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers. if those dont work contact me please.

I am not connected to any secondary display. And well I am not sure if its the drivers because I have been experiencing this even before I reinstalled my OS last week and I have the latest drivers the 381.00 version.

rhen im a little woried try to display core and get a ne one if that doesent work if you have another video card put that in there and test it just make sure to uninstall thecurrent gpu drivers. then install the new gpu just to test itim worried it might be ur gpu

I wish I had an external GPU dock to put another card :/ . Just finished it... no change at all

I am using a laptop which has a Type-C USB 3.1 capable for thuderbolt so I can plug in an external GPU Dock

and get a gefore 210 if you just want to test it but since you have it you could keep it for further use for games but you would need a moniter or a tv. what is your laptop model because the gpu inside of the cpu may be broken or bugged
