My current mouse (Perixx MX2000 (Not IIB) scroll wheel just died on me after almost 4 years of service, so I'm looking for a new mouse, but I only have £30 to spend... So, what's the best budget gaming mouse I can afford?

Only main feature I'm looking for is Forward/Back buttons. If it could possibly have a weight system, that would be great since I seem to prefer a heavier mouse. Also, I want a mouse that'll last and have a nice warranty to back it.

I've currently got 3 mice in mind:

Perixx MX-2000IIB
Corsair Harpoon
SteelSeries Rival 100

Please bare in mind, I have no understanding of mice sensors and what the main advantages are for laser and optical.

Many thanks, and hope for a quick response since using a mouse without a scroll wheel is extremely infuriating.

That's what I thought, but I bet there is a mouse enthusiast among TomsHardware that'll disagree with us.

I'm also looking a mouse that'll last me. One with a very long life span and long warranty.

It depends on what you are exactly planning:

Perixx MX-2000IIB is a cheap featurebomber, its sensor has relatively high resolution error while moving(aka "Acceleration")
Corsair Harpoon, cheap as well, Firmware is Corsair typical bollocks, and since it is using 3320 you might have a problem when using low sensitivity
SteelSeries Rival 100, better made/fitted than the other two, main switches/buttons might be a bit hard to click dependend on the batch, and since it is usin a variant of 3050, the 3059, you are basically limited to 1000cpi or under due to jitter.

Therefore just get a Logitech G203.

Mines going on 3 years old now
I've had to replace the Teflon feet only.
It works now exactly the same as it did on it's first day out of the box.

I was that impressed with its first week of use that I bought a second one as a backup (because when my 8 year old Logitech died I was gutted it was discontinued)

Absolutely cannot go wrong for £20 .
