Hi! I reciently noticed that my ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070 is making a noise, so I looked on the web for support and I saw that my problem is that my gpu has got "coil whine" (It's something that makes coils vibrate when the GPU is working at it's max capacity, which usually happens when you unlimit the FPS on a game).

So, I called the store where I got it and they told me to limit the FPS, otherwise my GPU lifespan was going to be shorter, but as I like having 700fps and I don't really care about the noise, I thought I would just unlimit the FPS because I'll be upgrading GPU in like 3 years.

So please, could you tell me if this is VERY bad for my GPU or if it's just going to go from 6 years to like 5 years lifespan?

*The noise only appears when I'm getting +500fps, no matter the game!!

Thanks a lot for reading and sorry for bad english if there are any spelling mistakes :)

Okay thank you for your answer I think I'm just gonna unlimit FPS and stop worrying about the noise (It's super soft, like you have to listen carefully)

Watch out! If it gets to 1070 FPS, it will reach Warp 10 speed and teleport itself along with your whole rig into nearest black hole!

If you have coil whine on your GPU, it happens no matter what FPS you have - but it can be inaudible to human ear at certain settings.
