CPU Temp not normal?...

Was playing some CPU intensive game. My CPU is the i7-7700 NON k

Heroes and Generals to be more specific. Notorious for p2p, unoptimization and terrible devs.

Core 0 74
Core 1 78 Degrees
Core 2 75
Core 3 76

My cooler is a 212X from CM.

I live in spain and right now the eat is killing me. Same goes for my GPU, I had to manually set the fans to 50% in order to keep temps below 75 degrees. For reference I own the RX 480 STRIX which is supposed to be one of the best aftermarket coolers, but ATM I just cant see the benefit...

So, is my CPU and GPU temp too high? Also, a few weeks ago, hell last week or so I could put my fan speed safely on 45 and keep below 60-65 degrees. Dont understand the sudden spike, is it ambient temps?

Hi Franches,

These temps are normal and fine to play on. If your temps go above 80-85 you should try and get them down but it's nothing to worry about; your chips won't be harmed. If your temps go above 90-95 you should be worried and try increasing your fan speed. But don't worry about damaging your chips as they will thermal throttle anyway (thermal throttling is when a chip lowers its own clock speed to avoid thermal issues).

I have a 6600k with a 212x and a 1060 6gb with the same strix cooler. My temps are always fine around 60-65 degrees at full load, even with a moderate overcook of 3.9 ghz (from 3.5) on my cpu and a high overclock on my 1060. Of course it makes sense that your temps are higher as you have a better cpu and live in hotter country. You chassis may also not be as open as mine but i don't know.

I see alright, but what really troubles me is the fact that you managed to OC and still get lower temperatures then me. For reference, I tried out some other games including Rising Storm 2 Vietnam on High / Ultra settings with 45% GPU fan speed, it didnt exceed 65 - 70 degrees and It is incredibly optimized and my CPU temps stayed at around 60 - 65 degrees

So I can basicaly go and blame the game? Hahaha
