I have my 6850k water cooled with a corsair 115i but the CPU still manages to get up to a max of 60C under intensive games at its default 3.7ghz. I wish I could overclock my CPU a little but i'm not sure about it when I see others get 43C max when already overclocked to 4.4ghz on idle, while i get 39-44 on idle. I could really do with some input from people that know more about cpu temps etc.

Thanks for reading.

Yes under volting can lower temps by a lot. Intel voltage has to cover the silicon lottery. You need to test each voltage just as you would overclocking. Try 1.2~1.25v at stock.

Dont expect to get this low but you should get in the ballpark.

What if I decided to stay at 3.7ghz, Is there any other way to lower the temp coming off of the cpu? Im looking at a chart and a 6850k going idle for an hour was as low as 25 to 30 but mine goes as high as 38-44 on idle. Why is my temperature so high with water cooling? My room temp is 70F and I even replaced the default fans for 2 Noctua ones, do you have any ideas on lowering it or does this sometimes depend on the individual CPU.
