Intel Core2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53GHz
ASUS P5B LGA 775 ATX Motherboard
Hynix 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz Desktop Memory Ram X2
Hitachi 320gb HDD
Zotac GTX 550 Ti
Tecware Mono w/ 600w PSU

Hi all, I need your help I have a Core2Duo and an ASUS P5b Motherboard. I've bought them like 2 years ago and I never had the chance to finish building it. Now, I want to build it so it won't go to waste.

My questions would be:
1. If I would not go for GTX 550ti, since I have a GTX 1050ti, can I use it on this system?

2. Am I running any compatibility issues? Especially for the RAM and Mobo.

3. Will be able to overclock my Core2Duo E7200?

4. Is my CPU and GPU a good tandem? Or a HD 7770 or HD 7790 would be better?

5. Will I be able to trust the bundled CPU with this low-end setup?

6. I'll be using LG 22MP58VQ monitor for this build, since I want to setup 2 CPU for 1 monitor, 1 high-end (i5-7400 and GTX 1050ti), 1 low-end (core2duo and GTX 550ti). Since LG has VGA, DVI, and HDMI port, will it be ok?

Thanks in advance.

You barely meet the minimum specs for those games with that CPU. I've never played any of them so I don't know how well they do on lower end hardware. At best they will run but probably not well and that's just the CPU.

You want to run both machines on one monitor? It will work but of course only one at a time. You may have to unplug the one you aren't using when you want to use the other one. Depends on the monitor.

I wouldn't power a toaster with that power supply. Would it work? Maybe. I wouldn't do it. :spamafote:

Edit: Actually you don't meet the minimum specs for DOTA 2.

OS: Windows 7.
Processor: Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz.
Memory: 4 GB RAM.
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD...

Looks compatible. It's 12 year old parts so it's going to be slow but you can make a basic browsing machine with it. 2GB of RAM is hugely limiting. As in it will even be slow trying to run webpages with video. Most newer games wouldn't even start slow. If you upgraded to a minimum 4GB and optimally 8GB of RAM ( needs 64 bit Windows ) it would run older and indie type games. I wouldn't try to pair that setup with anything more powerful than the 550 Ti though. The 1050 Ti is going to bottleneck.

Oh and the power supply is terrible. I'd just throw it away and get something cheap like a Corsair CX/Antec VP/EVGA white box.

Oh sorry, I forgot to put that it was x2 Hynix 2gb, so its 4gb. When I use GTX 550ti, will I be able to run games like Heroes of the Storm, DOTA2, Dragon Nest?

And also, if I do, 2 CPU 1 Monitor setup will it mess up my monitor? And if I temporarily use GTX 1050ti, will the core2duo system given my Mod edit PSU, mess up my 1050ti?
