hi guys,
recently i had to remove my gpu after it failed and so i had to return to onboard graphics. i felt like playing old games like most wanted, san andreas etc.

But as i launched the game, i found that its video calibration is set to the lowest (i used to play these games on medium graphics before buying the gpu). i increased the resolution and tried playing the game. but then my speakers make a weird craclking and popping noise along with pc getting stuck (as if i was playing gta 4!!)

i tried switching to headphones but no change.

i installed windows 8.1 today to see if it was some windows complaint, but the problem seems more acute now.

is this some sort of hardware error?

system specs-
cpu: core 2 quad q9400
cooler: deepcool gammaxx 300
mobo: g41 combo mobo
ram: 4gb ddr3
psu: mercury 450W (i suspect him as a possible villain)

after my windows 8.1 installation i installed dotnet framework 4.7, visual c++ 2015 (tried installing display driver for g41, but they say ive already got a later version of it; i dont know how..)
can someone please help me out?

I tried installing graphics driver for g41 from driverscape, but it said I've already got a newer version of it... I don't know how (I had already installed dotnet framework 4.7 and visual c++ 2015)
