I have Amd athlon x2 7750 @2.9 Ghz OC and in a month or so i will get new cpu, but i am not getting gpu and cpu at the same time (its complicated), i will get new gpu first but i was wondering if i could use rx 460-560 with the cpu i currently have. I know bottleneck will be huge but it will still be better than my nvidia 9500gt...
Edit: I will get new PSU and mobo of course

Solution
It'll work but it makes no sense to even risk a new gen GPU on 10+ year old computer.

but if still want to then...
check pci-e generation on motherboards (for performance)
power supply 6/8pin connectors to power GPU

hm i see. i guess i have to say thats very efficient because my gpu averages above 100watts during gameplay.. wonder how amd does it

to OP: so by now i figure you are now considering upgrading your cpu, mobo and ram.
also like to know if you're running ssd for OS and games because that would help the overall performance
