Have this very old desktop computer that works, have upgraded to add 250GB SSD, had 500 GB HD. Am an engineer so don't mind checking technical things, but don't know where to start to learn more about the nuts & bolts. On occasion use number crunching process simulator, AutoCAD, EXCEL, but essentially no gaming. My time is mostly for process design and testing stock market strategies. Where to start, WHERE TO START !! Don't even know what overclocking is though can guess by its name. Is a HP Pavilion 8GB RAM. Long time ago used a program called Belarc Advisor to develop a profile and to start says the computer has a ECS Nettle2 1.0 main (motherboard?) circuit board. Needs some hp, but NOT what I would imagine a gaming computer would need. How to choose a motherboard upgrade for this relic. Don't care about appearance so no need to upgrade the case or CD/DVD reader/writer. From there will try to gauge a new graphics card and then what size PSU to replace.
Don't know who to contact or where to start. Appreciate any time someone would have to get me started. Think more memory or current memory may be required
