Hi I need help picking out parts for a PC I would like to make. My budget is around $500. I have heard the Core I3 7100 and 6100 would be good for a CPU but I have also heard that the Pentium G4560 was supposed to be as good but for half the price but then if I did go for the Pentium G4560 I would have to get a different Motherboard. Does it even matter what Motherboard I choose to get or can I just get the cheapest one? If So what motherboard would I need. Can anyone help me and please respond in the simplest way because I am only a beginner.

if you choose the g4560 or i3 7100 you would require a b250 motherboard . an i3 6100 will work with a h110 or b150 series motherboard. there are other boards but they are more expensive and aimed primarily at higher end cpu's and overclocking.

edit: what would be your main usage for the computer ? if it is gaming , what games, would you be thinking of playing ?

Is that just cosmetic and if windows 10 is free could I buy a decent monitor with that $87?

you can probably get a 1080p 60hz but it will be on the smaller side. if you have a 1080p television that you can use then it may be a waste of $$ but if it a necessity then either myself or the above poster can take a look for you .

Matching colors would just be cosmetic, yes.

Windows 10 is not free unless you already own Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

Buy a decent monitor with $87? How about you save up for a couple months and get something of a little higher quality?

I was thinking of playing games like H1z1 KOTK PUBG GTA CSGO and other games along that nature. Would Weberdarren97's layout work for those games?

yeah. if you search youtubue i am quite sure you will find videos of those games with the same cpu (g4560) and graphics cards (gtx 1050ti and the rx 570) to give you an idea of what kind of experience you would get with either setup.

i will take a look myself also :)

the graphics cards may alter in price when you do come to buy ( maybe slightly cheaper ) but the rest of the parts should still be around the same price .

In that case, when you are ready to purchase your parts, please follow the instructions below to ensure you're getting the best deals.

1) Click Edit This Part List to the right above the CPU

2) Click on the X to the right of the RAM. A Choose Memory button will appear where the RAM was. Click on the Choose Memory button.

3) There will by options down the left side. Click on 8GB (2x4GB) in the Size section. Scroll to the top and click on the Price button at the top right. This button is blue and at the top right, not a slider on the left. You've now selected to view dual channel 8GB kits sorted by price low to high. Click the blue Add button to the right of the first one.

4) You're now back at your parts list. Click on the X to the right of the graphics card. Click on Choose a Video Card. Under the chipset section down the left, select GTX 1050 ti. Again, scroll to the top, click on Price and choose the first result by hitting the Add button to the right of its price.

You have now replaced the components that may have changed in price over time. This assures you're getting the best deals.
