Can i overclock a i5 6500 on z270 board?

I plan on buying a z270 board if i can overclock on a i5 6500 i plan on upgrading to a 7th gen in 6 months but first i would like to know if i can overclock on any z270 board thanks

Only by changing the bus rate, the chips core clock is locked. Not sure how high you can get the bus rate before your system starts to become unstable.

Only if the CPU has a K on the end of its name. That means it has an unlocked multiplier and can overclock.

But an i5 6500 can be OC´d by changing the base clock or bus rate or BCLK ( they are the same )

Yes you can change the bus speed. In the real world you wouldn't really notice a difference so don't bother. Wait for the upgrade.
