I have been running a 6 year old installation of Windows 7 on an HDD. I installed my first SSD yesterday. And the performance improvement is underwheling, to say the least. Example:
HDD Boot Time: 64 seconds (Old install, tons of software, 8% fragmented)
SSD Boot Time: 51 seconds (New install, very little software, 0% fragmented)
That's it?! A 13 second increase in boot speed? I could have accomplished close to the same thing by getting rid of the fragmentation and tons of programs,on the HDD.
SSD is on SATA 0
HDD is on SATA 1
Model Numbers
What am I missing here? Are there BIOS setting I need to adjust? Is something else needed?
Thank you
