Guys Do you prefer z170a or z270 and why Because I want to buy a computer and I don't know if it is worth to upgrade to the new generation ?

Solution
Assuming you want an Intel build,

if you are:

- building new (from scratch); or
- upgrading from a very very old and/or weak PC; and
- you want to overclock

then,

it's worth getting the Z270 motherboard and pair it with either an i5-7600K (for pure gaming) or an i7-7700K (for gaming AND multitasking).

The Z170 motherboards are also okay for 6th-gen unlocked Intel CPUs (i.e., i5-6600K and/or i7-6700K) but will need a BIOS update to support the 7th-gen (e.g., i5-7600K and/or i7-7700K). The Z270 mobos support both 6th and 7th gen out-of-the-box.

It's not worth it to upgrade to any of these mobos if you already have a powerful CPU, even from an older generation.
