Worth upgrading an i5 6600 to 1600

As the title says, I was wondering if it's worth upgrading from an i5 6600 to a ryzen 5 1600/x. I mostly do gaming and a little bit of video editing.
Or should i get an i7 considering that i have a z170 board?

If you do mostly gaming, it's not worth the switch to Ryzen 5 when you have to replace the motherboard as well. If people tell you it's "future proof", well it's not the future yet and we don't even know when is that. You could have spent a couple of dollars more for the i5-6600k and overclocked it, and you wouldn't have to worry about upgrading yet.
