So i was thinking of upgrading my "Bad" HD 7570 to something that requires a 8 or a 6+(2) Pin Connector, and also compatible with my AMD II X4 960T, anything?

Solution
The 970 is fine. People are just trying to save you money because it won't be utilized to its fullest but if that doesn't matter go for it.

GTX 1080ti. CPU doesn't have anything to do with GPU compatibility... Why are you worrying about the GPU bottlenecking the CPU?

What's your monitor? What games and performance goal (desired FPS) do you intend?

I'm not sure you really understand what bottlenecking is. If you do, then you wouldn't be asking. Here is a very informative page that should help you understand: https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/214851-on-cpugpu-bottlenecking-in-games

I was just told bottleneck is bad, And i would love to be able to run GTA 5 Medium/Low Settings With atleast constant 40+ Fps

And im not sure what kind of monitor i have.. how do i check that again? :p

Bottlenecking isn't bad unless it's limiting your hardware below your performance needs. Bottlenecking is inevitable anyways. With your CPU, you'll be looking at it performing 30 to 40 FPS in GTA 5. https://youtu.be/FVapX_z5dDg Has a slightly stronger CPU, yet getting those frames. You can tell it's the maximum the CPUs able to perform because the usage is near 100% (since they are recording, you can add a few frames on).

I assume your monitor is 1080p, but just to be safe, read here: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000499.htm

If it is 1080p, for a 40+ FPS goal in GTA 5 with low to medium settings, an RX 460 4gb will be enough. If you can find a GTX 1050 for the same price that would be better. Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti,4787-4.html

The real problem in that scenario is your CPU which won't deliver a constant 40+ FPS no matter the resolution or graphical settings.

Dude, that's called a bottleneck, which is bad. I don't mean to come down on you seeing as most of your advice is solid. But you told him "I'm not sure you really understand what bottlenecking is. If you do, then you wouldn't be asking." and you yourself don't seem to be able to convey it well either.

Precedentbug, the issue/bottleneck is your older CPU. The PhII and FX chips from AMD are now ~10yrs old, and not well suited to current gaming needs. They will bottleneck in current games and bottleneck faster GPUs. I agree that an older midrange or current lower end card is a good upgrade for you. The 950/960, 1050, 460 or maybe the 470. (The 470 gets a bit of a bad rap because it's normally found for $10 less than a 480.) While any card can fit in there and work, because of your CPU bottleneck it's important to not spend too much on it as you won't get the full performance from the GPU.

The only issue the cost. If the 970 is $200 while a just as fast due to CPU bottleneck is $100, it's not worth it. Some people say to buy it and enjoy the speed of the 970 when you finally upgrade but I find that logic to be false. First, the 970 can die before the system/CPU upgrade. In that case, it's $100 down the drain. Second, even if the card survives, it might be super slow compared to newer older cards when you finally upgrade. Again, $100 down the drain. I can see getting a faster used card if you know you'll be upgrading the system soon. Otherwise I personally would be getting good enough and saving the money for something else/upgrade.

Yes, if the 970 is of a similar price as the other cards it's worth getting.

I thought I mentioned bottlenecking as a broad subject isn't bad unless it limits the performance below anticipations, which I later on saying that this scenario is. There were two seperate answers just in one comment, sorry for the confusion.

and the other reason i want to go with the GTX 970 is because of its features that it comes with, Shadowplay seems to be the best recorder for youtube since it doesnt make you drop frames like most recorders do nowadays, and yea i just want to thank all of you for trying to help me out, im going to try and save up for that new GPU, hope you all have a great day! :D

A 960 ill give you,a 950 not so much (mainly because of the 2gb vram)

In all honesty Id just recommend a 1050ti at $130 new If it were not for the fact that it can have problems with older board bios & doesnt support vga .
970's from what ive seen still commmand too much money second hand because theyre pretty much close to par with the 1060 & rx cards

Second hand a r9 280/280x would be the best choice cheap because they go for $80 regularly.
Gotta have a good psu for one of those cards though!
