Sometimes Ill be editing a video on sony vegas or playing a video game on my PC and It will freeze. I don't think there is a temp issue but I need help to find out why its happening. It seems to be when Im on my PC for along time and using alot of programs or playing video games

Specs:
Cpu- 6600k (4.2 OC @ 1.255 volts)
Cooler- CM Hyper 212x
GPU- GTX 960 4gb
MOBO- GIGABYTE Z170x Gaming 3

Easy peasy - write down (remember) your current OC/voltage settings and then bring them all back down to default.
Edit video and game. If it doesn't lock up it's your OC settings.

It doesn't always have to be high temps that cause instability. Sometimes the silicon wafer just can't take what you are trying to push.
