So basically I have a completed computer build using an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon, previously the computer was running fine - a 1080p monitor was connected to it via the DVI port on the graphics card and it would display the screen for both entering the BIOS and Windows however as of 3 days ago, the computer whilst all the components start up - the LED lighting turns on to show the presence of the RAM and graphics card on the motherboard the screen displays nothing and when the monitor is turned on it says "no input signal detected" the turns off again. I've tested the graphics card on my own personal computer and found it to be working, so its definitely not the graphics card, I've also reset the CMOS on the motherboard to restore default BIOS settings and have tested with a single RAM stick as opposed to two all to no avail. I am stumped by what might be causing the problem - whats unusual is that the computer was working fine before and without anything apparently changing suddenly stopped working. I have found no adequate solutions on the net and was wondering if anyone here might have some?

I currently have the same board and bios version, however, I had this problem before with my MSI B350m mortar, with 2 of the debug LEDs lit, I was pulling my hair out that I couldnt get it to post, like you, nothing had changed, I literally stripped the whole...

Could you try the graphics card in the 2nd PCI-e x16 slot please.

Failing that, and I know its a pain, but could you try and remove the CPU itself, clear the cmos using the jumper on the motherboard (just above the 1st PCI-e x16 slot) then re-install the CPU and heatsink etc and try again.

Also, have you changed anything recently, like done a bios update etc ?

@Seanie280672 - I have tried the graphics card in the 2nd PCI-e x16 slot - same problem, no output to the screen. I have already reset the CMOS by removing the battery from the motherboard and re-installing - didn't make any difference. Before the problem started I updated the BIOS to the latest version - 1.5 but the computer was working for a while with this BIOS at this version so I don't think it has anything to do with the BIOS. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I currently have the same board and bios version, however, I had this problem before with my MSI B350m mortar, with 2 of the debug LEDs lit, I was pulling my hair out that I couldnt get it to post, like you, nothing had changed, I literally stripped the whole computer down looking for a problem, and then put it back together, tried one final thing, I took the heatsink off, removed the CPU to check for bent pins or anything that may be trapped in the socket, blew the socket out, cleared the bios with the jumper on the board, put it all back together and it fired straight up like nothing was ever wrong with it, both me and my Mrs were like WTF !!!

One thing ive noticed with these boards, is removing the battery doesnt work to clear the bios, especially if you still have the power cable plugged into the PSU, use the jumper on the board with the power plugged into the PSU still, use anything clean and metal to link the 2 pins together.

That did it - using the JBAT1 jumper on the motherboard got the computer to display to screen. Thanks so much for the help!!

Told you, I dont know why the removal of the battery thing doesnt work, I just know, ive seen it in many posts and it doesnt work lol, you have to use the jumper on the board.

Glad its back up and running for you :)
