Hi all,

This is my first build, with some help from my friends who are pretty familiar with hardware:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1500X 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M-HDV Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2800 Memory
Storage: SK Hynix Flash Memory 2.5" 120 GB Internal Solid State Drives HFS120G32TND-N1A2A & Western Digital 250 GB RE3 SATA 3 Gb/s 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Enterprise Hard Drive - WD2502ABYS
Video Card: Asus - Radeon RX 570 4GB ROG STRIX Video Card
Case: Thermaltake - Versa H15 MicroATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

There weren't any compatibility issues according to pcpartpicker. When I put it together (not by myself, with the help of someone experienced) we couldn't get it to output any display to my monitor via HDMI or DVI. The case lights are on, all fans running, everything seems to be working properly except there's just no display.

After hours of troubleshooting we decided that the MOBO may have been defective so I sent it back to Newegg and got a replacement. Yesterday I put the build back together and whadda ya know, still no display. I took it apart and noticed I had bent 1 or 2 pins on the CPU which I thought could have been the problem all along. However, once I straightened them out to make sure every pin was in the mobo, STILL no display.

I've gone through the list of troubleshooting options for this kind of problem on tomshardware multiple times, scowered the internet for solutions to no avail.

Could bending the pins have caused permanent damage to the CPU? I thought if I had got them back straight it shouldn't have been a problem.

My friends think the problem either lies with the PSU or the CPU now, but I'm really lost.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Yes i'm plugging either the HDMI or DVI both into the graphics card. How would I go about updating the bios on the MOBO when I can't get it to display?

It would involve fitting the older series Cpu to do it.
Send the motherboard back ? Ask where you got motherboard from to update bios for you?
Thats if this is the issue . Clearly you cant tell as you have no display.
A bit like a catch 22.

Unfortunately I only have this monitor and a TV, the TV I have already tried and still no display. I will do some googling about flashing the mobo but idk. Gonna take pics of the cables.

I've taken it apart and back together probably 10+ times, I think everything is in plugged right.

Just uploaded pics of the cables, yeah I did. My PSU had 8 pin connectors but I only had a slot for 4, it shouldn't matter which 4 I used right?

No they only fit if correct cable as some of the locators are the other way round to stop you putting an incorrect cable in there.

I think your right all the cables are on the bottom row
The 4 pin to cpu needs to be in top right hand connecter of psu

Sorry on double checking the bottom one is for cpu

listen dummy, that confirms the psu is not installed correctly, read that manual with pantiece or you might fry something.

Here is what is currently plugged in, are you saying the bottom right needs to be in the top right instead?

No Sorry ive got it wrong.

bottom right , to the top left on the motherboard.
bottom left to the hard disk, and from the hard disk a sata cable to the motherboard.
Top right to the graphics card a vga cable

as for the big bundle connect the 24pin to the right of the motherboard.

now give the system some time to boot up and you will get an image , make sure the monitor is set to the right channel.

i don't have anything in the top right, sorry i'm a bit confused. This is how the PSU is plugged into the hard disk and SSD, does that look right as well?
