Symptoms of Bios version not supporting CPU?

Specs:

Ryzen 5 1600
MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic
Corsair Vengeance LED 3200 2x8gb
CX550M PSU
Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8gb

So, I have recently tried building my first comp. I have tried 3 different mobos with the first and 3rd (current one) being MSI B350 Tomahawks Arctic. 2nd was ASUS Prime x370 Pro, I would make it to the splash screen and it would freeze, not allowing me to get into the BIOS or anything.

On the Tomahawks, I plug in CPU, GPU, RAM, and it all goes well until the "VGA" EZ DEBUG LED comes on and I will get a signal to my monitor and it will never go any further than that. When I say it doesn't go any further than that, I mean I get no splash screen or anything, no "press del or f2 to enter bios". Also no boot or anything. Have tried a second GPU that is definitely working, with the same results.

In my mind, I have come to the conclusion that the BIOS on my board is not updated enough to support the Ryzen 5 1600, does it sound like I am correct in saying that? I just would like to be sure that it is or, could be the issue as the local computer store wants to charge $100 to update my bios, and if that's not even the issue, I don't want to spend that amount of money.

Thanks guys,

maybe try the latest bios and hope for the best you see from the newegg user reviews them guys had there start up issues as well with this board .

when you buy these new latest release platforms and stuff your the guinney pig . why in never buy the latest just released things , unproven no support or gets hurry up support and unknown compatibility issues until it gets better support or just gets phased out /gave up on by the manufacture ..

you just don't know if this board is a unlucky model in there line or not yet that may never come over stability issues or not yet

DRagor, unfortunately I can't get them on the phone till Tuesday at the lastest as they're only available during the week and sure they won't be working on Memorial Day. Any other ways to check the bios version without being able to get into the actual BIOS?

None that I know in case of MSI boards. With Asus or AsRock boards you can (usually) find the BIOS version on the board itself - on the sticker in Asus, on the chip itself in AsRock.
If not by phone, then perhaps by online chat or something like that?
