I'm debating whether I should get a GTX 1070 or a 1080.

If I decide on getting the 1080 then I'm going to have to stick to my 550w power supply however If I decide on getting a 1070 I'm going to get a good gold rated power supply that will be more than enough for the system I have.

I'm still in the pleb age (1080p monitor) I'll probably switch over to 1440p or perhaps 4k some time soon when I have the money.

Sure I don't exactly need a 1080 but getting extra performance and extra future proofing can always be nice

I know this post might seem a little excessive but I want to make the best decision as I'm investing a lot of money into the system. Thanks in advanced!

If it's within your budget I'd go with the 1080. Even I've debated getting a 1080 ti for my 1080P/144hz monitor however I needed to repair my motorcycle instead. As long as it's a good quality unit 550W should be plenty.

Thanks for the response, I think I'll stick to your advice.
If you need to know the power supply is a "FSP Raider 550w" Sadly I don't know much more than that.

Yeah I heard they were decent. I play a lot of PlayerUnknown BattleGrounds so I'd be lucky getting 50fps in very low setting with my current setup so I think ill stick to the GTX 1080 as the optimization for that game is currently in a really bad state.
Thanks a lot for the help mate
