So here is where I currently stand. I currently have an Fx-8350, with a EVGA GTX-770 Superclocked 2gb . Using a asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard. I have 8gb ram. I am running the newest version of windows 10. I have begun to find that my performance in games is lacking as to what it used to be and I have as of late been forced to drop my graphics settings to low for some games.
I am wondering if my cpu would make it not worth it to upgrade my video card. I have considered overclocking my cpu to 4.5 or 4.6 ghz ( it is currently watercooled by a closed loop system with 1 120mm fan), Really all I want to know is should I wait until I can build a new system or is it worth upgrading the card to hold out a little longer until I can buy a new system to go with it. Also do you think with my current setup overclocking will help me gain some fps.

Thanks for your time.

I wouldn't bother with a 1080ti until you upgrade your cpu. I briefly ran an 8350 and a 980 in a build before replacing it with an i5 and the 8350 held the 980 back.
