How to combine a hard drives storage.

When I tried to allocate my 3 terabyte hard drive there was 2 parts to it, 1 was 2048 gb and the other was 746 gb, and the 746 Gb I can't create a new volume for it, so i was wondering if i could combine it so that i dont waste a whole 1 tb of space.

A partition larger than 2.2TB is only bootable if formatted GPT rather than MBR, and if using UEFI instead of BIOS. You would've been able to make a 3TB partition if your system met all of those requirements, or if you were not booting from the disk (if it was a secondary disk).

Its a storage drive and I have a 120 gb ssd as boot drive, also have a 500gb that i will probably be gone. its windows 7 64 bit.

In disk management, can you right-click on the disk itself (not the partitions) and convert to GPT disk?

I dont know whats wrong but the 746 gbs I cant do anything with in the disk management

It says that the 2 tb is physical and the 746 is virtual? can i change it to be physical?

Okay now i can use the 700 gbs but its on a different "drive" (2) and its still unallocated on my 3 tb drive 0.
