I recently bought a new pc having hdd space of 1 tb
But i had all my data stored in a 500 gb hdd of my old pc
I want to copy that data from the old hdd to my new hdd
Note (both are wd blue sata hdd)
Can i use that old hdd as an external hdd or can i use both of the hdd in my current system

Solution
You can use both of the HDD in your current system, provided, 1) you have an available SATA port in your motherboard for data transfer, 2) you have an available SATA power connector in your PSU cables for powering the HDDs, and 3) your case has an available 3.5" drive bay for you to mount your HDD.

Mount/plug everything while the system is off. Next time you boot, BIOS should detect your newly-installed HDD. Copy your files from the old to the new. Keep the old HDD in the current system as you wish or shutdown and unplug it if you won't be using it anymore.

There is also an option to make your old internal HDD an external HDD (in terms of usage). But its more complicated (and expensive) as you would need to get an HDD enclosure...
