Solution
Like said above, it depends on the cable.

If they are digital(DVI-D) to analog it has its own digital to analog converter and is what is required for newer cards that no longer produce an analog signal they should work on almost anything. The quality is dependent on the converter used.

If you happen to have some computer stores in town or friends who have self build systems or have swapped out video cards, they have have adapters(the passive ones like you are trying to use) already(may be cheaper or even free from a friend). I have many of those adapters because video cards used to come with 2 of them each time i got a new one.

Unfortunately analog video is well on its way out.

This is a wide screen that's the first thing. 1280x1024 is not a standard resolution. If you have any other port like DVI-D in your monitor connect it through it. My friend had simmilar problem , with the vga to DVI-D adapter. The DVI-D to HDMI works fine , but if it happened to you as well it means that we are not the only one having problems. Still I don't get why is this happening as both you and my friend shouldn't have had any problems with that. But the problem is that your gpu has DVI-I , so I don't know what's up with that. One more thing to mention , everything worked after we purchased a more expensive adapter. Quality on these chineese ones is very low.

if the adapter it's more expensive than 10-15$ i better to buy 2nd hand monitor they can be found for 17.5$ in my country

I have never had issues with adapters like those in the past(on video card with DVI-I like you have). Newer 10xx(and most RX4xx/5xx series) cards have removed the DVI-I and some older AMD cards only had a single DVI-I port. I have run VGA(D-sub) upto 1920 x 1200 without issues.

Just in case have you tried the other DVI-I port?(maybe the adapter is just defective as well) The manual lists the card as coming with a DVI to D-sub adapter.

As for the non standard resolution, that was a very common resolution for smaller non wide screen flat panel screens(it is only 46 pixels wider than its equivalent 4:3 monitor.).

It should work.. But nobody can guarantee you that. Even though I am positive it should , I had problems with VGA to DVI-D connector , needed to purchase more expensive one but it worked.
